Steve Waller is not only a professional breeder and handler, he is also head guide for Big K Outfitters’ pheasant and chukar hunting preserve. He has played a key role in the success of this very popular addition to the ranch.
In 2010 when the Big K Guest Ranch opened a 550 acre pheasant preserve near Elkton Oregon they called on Steve and his pudelpointers. Guest at the Big K have enjoyed world-class fishing on the Umpqua River since the lodge opened in 1993 and their 10 mile stretch of the Umpqua River Loop has become one of the premier fishing destinations in the country. Today, guests of the Big K can also take advantage of world-class pheasant hunting with a Tall Timber Pudelpointer.
The Big K boasts a 10,000 square foot lodge and twenty private cabins. Guests enjoy award-winning meals, stunning views and a variety of outdoor recreation opportunities. There are very few destinations in the country where you can hunt big game and upland birds, catch smallmouth bass, steelhead or chinook, and enjoy horseback riding, hiking or sporting clays all in one weekend!
